America fighting the Global War on Terror watches as anti-Hezbollah forces valiantly refuse to lie down.
The United Nations (the global joke on standing for peace and human rights) which has U.N. Peace Keeping Forces in Southern Lebanon watch as anti-Hezbollah forces valiantly refuse to lie down.
European Powers (France, Germany, Britain and EU) look the other way as anti-Hezbollah forces refuse to lie down.
Walid Phares equates the anti-Hezbollah forces to the Spartans legendary 300 that held Thermopylae against the invading superior military Persians long enough for the then usually internally fractured Greeks to come together to defeat Persia: The very Persia that calls itself today Iran.

Atlas Shrugs posts some excerpts that demonstrate the true nature of the United Nations. It has become a club of anti-Semitics (Atlas Shrugs term is apropos – Judeophobics). The UN was creator by the victors of WWII that wished to have a global organization that promoted peace and human rights for the inhabitants of planet Earth.
As the Western Democracies became the minority to Third World dictatorships and eventual petro-dollar strong Mohammedan autocratic nations, the UN has become a global organization that dumps on the Middle East’s only viable Western Democracy with full equal Rights to all citizens of race, creed and faith – Israel.
Indeed Israel was created out of the Western Guilt of allowing the Holocaust to proceed thus the Land Israel became a nation in which people of Jewish origin (practicing and non-practicing Jews) have a haven in which their government would not persecute them for being Jewish.
Jump from the modern Israeli nationhood of 1948 to the present and one can view a series of wars perpetrated by Jew hating Arabs (mostly Mohammedan but also a few secularist and dhimmified Christian Arabs) to exterminate the Jews of Israel as if they were vermin and not people. Hello memories of the Nazi “Final Solution.”
Look at the properties of anti-Semitism today. There is an emerging rise of anti-Semitism in Europe again. My opinion this is occurring because of the Leftist susceptibility to embrace the propaganda of Mohammedan victimization propaganda. That propaganda basically vilifies Israeli harshness toward Arabs that call themselves Palestinians yet horrifically fails to explain it is an Israeli response to terrorist action against Israel. The Mohammedan propaganda also fails to mention these Arabs not only support the terrorist acts they also aid and hide the terrorists from Israeli justice. Thus Israel often reacts to punish families or neighborhoods of the terrorists because is all the horror of accomplice to murder.
The West does not hear or read this part but only reads, hears and sees the propaganda of Mohammedan victimization.
Another seed of the rise of anti-Semitism in Europe is the influx of Mohammedan immigrants that have flocked to Europe with hatred and animosity in their hearts already planted against Jews.
And worst of all the United Nations of has become a disseminator of anti-Semitism due to the inherent nature of the majority of haters of Democracy and Jews that have rendered the original creation of the UN as a mockery.
I like the quote given in Atlas Shrugs tagged to John McCain concerning the UN:
John McCain has it exactly right when he talks about replacing the UN by a union of democracies —a suggestion I have myself repeatedly made over the years.
Here is an example of America’s future with a fringe Democratic Party President. Obama wants to solve Global Poverty on the American tax payer which incidentally may have United Nations oversight with those taxes collected for poverty outside the USA. I am telling you Conservatives that McCain is a much better choice than to allow this to occur.

Thanks to the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), I suspect America and Israel may have to act alone to prevent nuclear WMD from being made in Iran.
The IAEA report recently released claims that Iran is “generally truthful about key aspects of its nuclear history”.
Those brief words alone enable Russia who is aiding in building nuclear plants and China who is a major arms dealer, to say: “I told you so.”
Europe is incredibly tied to Iranian oil and will think long and hard to accommodate sanctions along with America. Iran could make the claim that Bush has it wrong again about WMD, because he found none in Iraq.
I guess I am of the rare group that believes it is better to be safe than sorry. The kind of uranium being enriched in Iran is weapons grade and that is confirmed. If America acquiesces to Iran becoming a nuclear power in the Middle East then nations that can afford to do so will be forced to seek nuclear WMD to counter Iran’s hegemonic designs. The two nations I have in mind are Wahhabi dominated Saudi Arabia and Muslim Brotherhood infiltrated Egypt.
A nuclear race far more dangerous than the Cold War days will occur. Middle Eastern nuclear proliferation will be dangerous because Mohammedans are crazy suicidal and the old Mutually Assured Destruction (MAD) doctrine will not faze them. The MAD doctrine was the code that definite enemies America led NATO versus the Soviet Block (and emerging Red China) lived by in order not to launch nuclear attacks.
The MAD doctrine implies if one nation (or nations) launch a nuclear missile strike then the retaliation button will be pushed before the WMD strike. Thus both sides are obliterated in a thermonuclear holocaust.
As competitive as free market capitalistic democratic Federalism and Marxist/Leninist/Stalinist/Maoist Communism were, neither side felt an ideology was total obliteration.
Does anyone think the fear of annihilation exists in homicidal suicidal Mohammedan nations? Well I don’t!
It is beyond me why Western Democracies continue membership in the United Nations. The U.N. Charter created by victorious Democracies over Fascism, Nazism and Japanese Imperial brutality at the end of WWII has been rendered irrelevant since the inclusion Mohammedan nations, Mohammedan sympathetic nations and despotic Third World Nations.
U.N. Charter Preamble:
WE THE PEOPLES OF THE UNITED NATIONS DETERMINED
* To save succeeding generations from the scourge of war, which twice in our lifetime has brought untold sorrow to mankind, and
* To reaffirm faith in fundamental human rights, in the dignity and worth of the human person, in the equal rights of men and women and of nations large and small, and
* To establish conditions under which justice and respect for the obligations arising from treaties and other sources of international law can be maintained, and
* To promote social progress and better standards of life in larger freedom,
AND FOR THESE ENDS
* To practice tolerance and live together in peace with one another as good neighbours, and
* To unite our strength to maintain international peace and security, and
* To ensure, by the acceptance of principles and the institution of methods, that armed force shall not be used, save in the common interest, and
* To employ international machinery for the promotion of the economic and social advancement of all peoples,
HAVE RESOLVED TO COMBINE OUR EFFORTS TO ACCOMPLISH THESE AIMS
Accordingly, our respective Governments, through representatives assembled in the city of San Francisco, who have exhibited their full powers found to be in good and due form, have agreed to the present Charter of the United Nations and do hereby establish an international organization to be known as the United Nations.
Obviously this is a meaningless scrap of geopolitical humbug.
Here is the Preamble to the Universal Declaration of Human Rights (adopted by the U.N. in 1948 – Hmmm … The very year Arab Mohammedan nations first tried to wipe Israel off the map):
Whereas recognition of the inherent dignity and of the equal and inalienable rights of all members of the human family is the foundation of freedom, justice and peace in the world,
Whereas disregard and contempt for human rights have resulted in barbarous acts which have outraged the conscience of mankind, and the advent of a world in which human beings shall enjoy freedom of speech and belief and freedom from fear and want has been proclaimed as the highest aspiration of the common people,
Whereas it is essential, if man is not to be compelled to have recourse, as a last resort, to rebellion against tyranny and oppression, that human rights should be protected by the rule of law,
Whereas it is essential to promote the development of friendly relations between nations,
Whereas the peoples of the United Nations have in the Charter reaffirmed their faith in fundamental human rights, in the dignity and worth of the human person and in the equal rights of men and women and have determined to promote social progress and better standards of life in larger freedom,
Whereas Member States have pledged themselves to achieve, in co-operation with the United Nations, the promotion of universal respect for and observance of human rights and fundamental freedoms,
Whereas a common understanding of these rights and freedoms is of the greatest importance for the full realization of this pledge,
Now, Therefore THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY proclaims THIS UNIVERSAL DECLARATION OF HUMAN RIGHTS as a common standard of achievement for all peoples and all nations, to the end that every individual and every organ of society, keeping this Declaration constantly in mind, shall strive by teaching and education to promote respect for these rights and freedoms and by progressive measures, national and international, to secure their universal and effective recognition and observance, both among the peoples of Member States themselves and among the peoples of territories under their jurisdiction.
Despotic Communist nations made this a farce from day one; however with the inclusion of the influence of Mohammedan ruled nations in the U.N. General Assembly it is more a load of crap in 2007 than in 1948.
Anne Bayefsky writes about the total irrelevance of the United Nations; however she misses the reason that Western nations feel impelled to remain in the U.N. due the power of the Security Council. Unanimous votes (this excludes abstentions) in the Security Council are capable of mobilizing a significant military array to enforce the will of the Security Council will (but not necessarily the United Nations will comprised of the General Assembly and the Secretary-General).
The former Soviet Union’s abstention in Korean War illustrated this and the USA took full advantage to engage in a U.N. sanctioned war that ended up in a stalemate and the separation of Korea into two separate nations.
The Global lesson learned is that one veto nullifies even a majority vote of the Security Council. Therein lay the hesitation of America or any other permanent Security Council nation from departing from United Nations membership. If a Britain, France or America (three of five permanent members) should leave the U.N. the remaining permanent members (Russia and China) could lead a coalition that would be detrimental geopolitically to some nation or nations.
Thus the only way for America to abandon the U.N. is to pre-arrange a coalition to counter her enemies. Currently even Western Democratic nations are jealous of American global hegemony; therefore lay the American quandary with the United Nations.
President Bush is rapidly declining in popularity with Conservatives. The President has been hated almost hysterically by Leftists and Democrats for nearly seven years.
Dwell on this: Internet buzz is a major modem of Conservative dissemination of information because Conservatives KNOW the Mainstream Media (MSM) will not truthfully portray a story that supports Conservatism or President Bush. The difficulty with Internet dependence is that the information dissemination needs to often be verified by many reputable Conservative sources before it can be conceivable that the information has not been warped or planted merely as propaganda.
Now that the President is becoming unpopular with Conservatives he has become the target of Conservative venom as nearly the twenty-first century Benedict Arnold of Conservativism and Neoconservativism. There is a laundry list of betrayals: Ramos and Campos imprisoned for stopping illegal aliens doing drug smuggling, I. Scooter Libby being allowed to be convicted on trumped up charges, the harassment of Tom DeLay, collaboration with a Democratic Senate on a controversial illegal alien Bill and on and on.
Cliff Kinkaid who writes for Accuracy in Media is a person of huge respect as a source of information. I say that to honor him. Kinkaid has written an article that adds to the Conspiracy Theory of George W. Bush flirting with selling out. The Bush Administration has called the concept of a North American Union (Canada, America and Mexico) is rumor and manipulation of a little fact to create a lot of myth. Kinkaid cites evidence to the contrary. Kinkaid reports that President Bush could not pass the U.N. Convention on the Law of the Sea (UNCLOS) when the Republicans controlled the Senate. Kinkaid believes that Bush can push UNCLOS through a Democratic controlled Senate. Kinkaid believes the NAU and UNCLOS are both instances that will pass American sovereignty away from the USA and to the United Nations.
Are these issues Conspiracy Theories that should be banished to the works of fiction? OR are these issues the shadows of a changing global politic that will affect traditional American Constitutional government and sovereignty?
You really should read Cliff Kinkaid:
Apparently “political correctness” has scored a diplomatic victory for Iran. The key: Have lots of oil then thumb your political nose at International (i.e. useless U.N.) EVERY SINGLE TIME a Resolution is put forth calling Terminate to terminate their nuclear program.
Here is Decision 08 quoting the Chicago Tribune:
Iran appears to have solved most of its technological problems and is beginning to enrich uranium on a far larger scale than before. Tehran may well have passed the critical point, at which its scientists have mastered the technological feat of keeping thousands of delicate centrifuges spinning at terrific speeds. If so, that means all the assumptions about when might be capable of enriching enough uranium to build a bomb would need to be recalculated. ’s ability to build a bomb — estimated by various intelligence officials to be five to 10 years off — is likely to be moved up.
Here’s the math: International inspectors reportedly found that Iran has about 1,300 centrifuges running. If the Iranians can sustain that progress, their next milestone comes when they’ve got 3,000 running. At that point, nuclear experts said, would be able to produce enough highly enriched uranium for a bomb within nine months or so.
"We believe they pretty much have the knowledge about how to enrich,” International Atomic Energy Agency chief Mohamed ElBaradei told The New York Times. “From now on, it is simply a question of perfecting that knowledge. People will not like to hear it, but that’s a fact.”
No, we don’t like to hear it. But the sooner that fact is acknowledged, the sooner the Security Council can drop the pretense that the slow ratcheting of sanctions will force the Iranians to freeze their enrichment efforts. Incremental pressure won’t budge . The only sanctions with even the faintest hope of stopping the Iranians are also the ones that would require the greatest international cooperation and cause the most economic pain worldwide.
Embargoing Iran’s oil exports, for instance, would stagger ’s already shaky economy. But the embargo would likely spring huge leaks even as pump prices rocketed. The other sensitive Iranian target: gasoline. Iran has huge oil reserves but it lacks sufficient refinery capacity and must import more than a third of its gasoline, mainly from Europe and India. A gas embargo could devastate much of the country’s industry, if it were enforced. Such dramatic measures could also backfire, rallying support for the ruling mullahs.
The next UN Security Council deadline for to ignore falls next week.
I just read an article that is an unearthing of another scandal for the United Nations. Really it is an indictment on the inefficiency and corruption of the Administration of former Secretary-General Kofi Annan.
I guess everyone is afraid to say it, but Annan mantle overlooked some of the worst human misery, genocides and the degeneration of the United Nations itself into a state of third world like administrative corruption.
Annan claimed ignorance over the “Oil for Food” scandal with Saddam Hussein. It was an ignorance that only a moron or a family member would believe.
Annan’s own son utilized U.N. funds for personal use.
And now the light is illuminating the darkness of U.N. involvement in aiding and abetting North Korea with its counterfeiting of United States currency.
Can anyone deny that Annan’s anti-Semitism and anti-Americanism has enabled the Mohammedan world to effectively propagandize against Israel and America? Much of the hatred in the world is the result of the U.N. under Annan criticizing a sliver slice of a nation known as Israel and siding with Israel’s enemies that surround the Land like a dreaded darkness keeping the sun from rising.
I do not have confidence that Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon (a South Korean) has the backing of politically to clean up Annan’s mess.
The United Nations has degenerated into a tool for anti-American and anti-Israeli nations and terrorist organizations bent on their demise. With no real military strength, the U.N. has turned Machiavellian influencing America’s European allies against America. The U.N. (particularly under Annan) has made stock on European hubris that has hated American hegemony and protection.
The only benefit the United Nations has for America is the Security Council. The way the organization of the U.N. is set up America has the power of the veto to undermine anti-American and anti-Israeli interests.
America should embark on its own Machiavellian path. America needs to turn the coalition of the willing into an economic and military alliance to counter global jihad and nations that wish to counter Pax American with their own shot of world domination. That domination would eschew the civil rights, Liberty and the Pursuit of Happiness that the American Revolution initiated between July 4, 1776 and March 4, 1789.
As long as the United Nations can be stopped by an American veto in the Security Council, the USA should remain. If the time should arise that an American veto at the Security Council holds no value or authority that is the time America should abandon the United Nations.
Do not think abandoning the U.N. would be a selfish act. The Arabs have the Arab League. Radical Islamist terrorist NGO’s have the Wahhabi sect, Muslim Brotherhood, Shi’ite Twelvers and more. Europe has the European Union. I am certain if you can think of some alliances that have goals and interests of commonality you could come up with more.
What U.N. self-investigation will nail the U.N. the big dogs with complicity to North Korean counterfeiting?
Victor Davis Hanson is a man I respect immensely as a pundit writer and historian. I am not so sure I agree with his good intentions of taking the slow route to reign in the global hostility of . Hanson presents a logical and well intentioned approach for America, EU and the United Nations to put the squeeze on Iran without utilizing military confrontation.
Hanson advocates a kind of united American and EU diplomatic assault on Iran through the vehicle of the United Nations slowly squeezing sanctions that Hanson believes will slowly constrict Iran’s compliance to global peace.
Hanson believes Iranian citizens will turn on the Mullocracy and Ahmadinejad if economic and living conditions became unbearable. Frankly I disagree. There is an obvious growing dissent in Iran, however for the most part Iranians have plugged into Shi'ite radicalism hook, line and sinker. We are talking about a regime that sent children as martyrs in the Iraq/Iran war to clear minefields. I doubt a little discomfort will shake Iranian support of radical Shi'itism.
The problem I have with this approach is that the EU is way too invested economically with Iranian oil to stand completely unified with America. Also, the United Nations Security Council has two permanent members with veto power that also are invested in the Iranian economy: Russia and China. That pretty much neutralizes the United Nations as a vehicle to squeeze sanctions successfully to the point for Iran to take notice. The U.N. sanctions (if any) will always be diluted to favor continued economic relations with Russia and China.
The EU is divided on Iran. Germany may be seeing the light (dimly) of Iran’s evil yet I doubt France would pierce the darkness of Iranian evil unless there was a diverted way to attain oil or Iran directly threatened French pride in some way. The British government is already invested in confronting Iranian evil yet there are a huge block of voters that may change that investment. There are many lesser EU members that adore American democracy since attaining freedom from the tyrannical slavery of the overtly Communist former Soviet Union. These lesser members are primarily from what was known in the Cold War days as the Soviet Bloc.
Hanson’s logic and intentions are sound. Hanson’s conclusions are doubtful to get off the drawing board to be executed.
As expected, Iran is thumbing its Mohammedan superiority complex at the U.N. Security Council. Not only is Iran ignoring the Resolution Sanctions, Ahmadinejad responded with a veiled threat that the West would pay for meddling in Iran’s uranium enrichment program. Also Iran is exploring leaving the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), as if Iran cooperated or listened to the IAEA anyway.
Because of Russia and China the Security Council is committed to diplomacy and civilian thumb screwing to attempt to make Iran forsake a nuclear ambition that will certainly lead to Weapons of Mass destruction. By the time America and Europe realize that only military solutions will convince Iran it may be too late to engage in military action that will make a soft difference as opposed to a nightmare that will make Iraq look like a picnic.
