Kosovo is a little spec of dust that has been a Province most recently controlled by Serbia. Under the former Serbian regime Slobodan Milosevic, an ethnic cleansing of Albanian Muslin Kosovars was undertaken.
Ethnic cleansing in the Balkans is nothing new. The Ottoman Turks did this very same thing to Orthodox Christians in Serbia. During World War II, Germany made allies of the Muslim populations in the Balkans who in turn exacted an ethnic cleansing (primarily directed toward Jews) against non-Muslims.
It is no excuse but it is no surprise that when Serbia achieved sovereign independence that new nationalist tendencies flamed into attempting to establish a Serbian hegemonic Balkan state. This resulted in the time honored practice of ethnic cleansing, this time the ugly practice was initiated by Serbs of an Eastern Orthodox back ground against Muslims. It was not pretty.
Milosevic first went after the Muslims in Bosnia and Croatia. Then later Milosevic went after Kosovo Muslims. As I mentioned before, ethnic cleansing is nothing new in the Balkans. The Muslims did their own version of ethnic cleansing against the minority Christians in Kosovo while Milosevic was committing his atrocities against Muslim Kosovars.
So now it has come down as part of American Foreign Policy (utilizing the United Nations to an extant) to recognize an independent sovereign Kosovo. This is a move which Serbia and Serbia’s traditional Slavic champion Russia are highly against.
Too late! TODAY President Bush recognized Kosovo’s declaration of Independence as a sovereign nation separate from Serbia.
Thanks to the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), I suspect America and Israel may have to act alone to prevent nuclear WMD from being made in Iran.
The IAEA report recently released claims that Iran is “generally truthful about key aspects of its nuclear history”.
Those brief words alone enable Russia who is aiding in building nuclear plants and China who is a major arms dealer, to say: “I told you so.”
Europe is incredibly tied to Iranian oil and will think long and hard to accommodate sanctions along with America. Iran could make the claim that Bush has it wrong again about WMD, because he found none in Iraq.
I guess I am of the rare group that believes it is better to be safe than sorry. The kind of uranium being enriched in Iran is weapons grade and that is confirmed. If America acquiesces to Iran becoming a nuclear power in the Middle East then nations that can afford to do so will be forced to seek nuclear WMD to counter Iran’s hegemonic designs. The two nations I have in mind are Wahhabi dominated Saudi Arabia and Muslim Brotherhood infiltrated Egypt.
A nuclear race far more dangerous than the Cold War days will occur. Middle Eastern nuclear proliferation will be dangerous because Mohammedans are crazy suicidal and the old Mutually Assured Destruction (MAD) doctrine will not faze them. The MAD doctrine was the code that definite enemies America led NATO versus the Soviet Block (and emerging Red China) lived by in order not to launch nuclear attacks.
The MAD doctrine implies if one nation (or nations) launch a nuclear missile strike then the retaliation button will be pushed before the WMD strike. Thus both sides are obliterated in a thermonuclear holocaust.
As competitive as free market capitalistic democratic Federalism and Marxist/Leninist/Stalinist/Maoist Communism were, neither side felt an ideology was total obliteration.
Does anyone think the fear of annihilation exists in homicidal suicidal Mohammedan nations? Well I don’t!
It would have been awesome to have India (the largest Western style democracy globally) in America’s camp. America even went out on a limb to strike a nuclear technology deal with India subject to approval of Congress and India’s Parliament.
There were critics on the Left in America of sharing nuclear technology with India in light of our denunciation of North Korea and Iran going nuclear. There were traditional slanted right critics (paleocons) who felt such a deal would alienate the much needed support of nuclear armed Mohammedan Pakistan on the War on Terror.
President Bush had managed to swing Congressional approval of the nuclear deal with India. Unfortunately the irony of ironies is occurring in the Indian Parliament. The Left block (Marxist/Communist associated Parties) which make up part of the ruling Parliamentary coalition of Prime Minister Manmohan Singh are working to strike down the deal. That is an irony because the Left in America tentatively seems to have signed on to the deal. The reason: traditional Marxist aversion to a Capitalist America as a global hegemon and the Marxist Indian’s fear of America manipulating India’s foreign policy.
Prime Minister Singh has been lobbying hard with the Indian Parliament however it appears headed to defeat.
I suspect the Marxists in India’s Parliament wish to continue an affinity with former Communist Russia (though apparently becoming hostile toward America) and Communist China.
This is an indication to me that has its own version of polarizing politics: The old politicians of India wish to stay connected to past associations with Russia and it’s off and on again relationship with China. A new guard of Indian politicians needs to assert themselves because on paper it would seem an America/India partnership would benefit both nations in National Security and the economics of prosperity as a counter weight to Chinese ambitions to be a global military and economic hegemon at India’s expense.
I believe the ruling Indian elites are missing the big picture for the future growth and security, especially since Islamofascism is attacking India nearly as much as America. The American Media fails to report the significance of radical Islamists committing acts of terrorism against the Hindi majority of India’s population.
Let us hope President Bush and Prime Minister Singh can pull out a twelfth hour turn around for both nations’ sake.
Russia has been revising it geopolitical stance slowly moving back to a Cold War image of Russia VS the West with the USA in mind in particular.
Russia has been playing brinksmanship with Britain in the air and in protecting Russian assassins who killed on British soil a Russian protected by the British government.
Russia is playing brinksmanship in the Arctic Ocean relating to natural resources around the North Pole.
Russia has demanded the USA not build an anti-ballistic missile security system in Poland and the Czech Republic. America’s reasoning (publicly anyway) is that Europe needs an umbrella of protection from Iranian long range missiles which may eventually contain nuclear warheads. Russia’s stand is such a security system undermines Russia’s deterrent strategy with Europe: So much for Russian matriculation into the Western democratic lifestyle.
With a little guess work on might see another reason for Russia’s stand against an ABM system in Eastern Europe. Russia is building Iran’s nuclear plant. As part of that Russian/Iranian partnership further Putin brinksmanship have proceeded from the lips of the Russian President. Putin is warning the U.S. or any nation that might threaten to militarily attack Iran’s nuclear aspirations.
That sounds like a veiled threat of a Russian military response to any sane nation preventing insane Iran from acquiring weapons grade uranium to arm Iranian long range missiles.
Although Russia is still in the realm plausible deniability there is an appearance of a plan of Russia allying itself with Islamofascist rogue nations such as Syria and Iran. If Arabs calling themselves Palestinians schmooze their way into a sovereign nation, you can bet it will join Islamofascist rogue nations. I also suspect that Hezbollah will either usurp Lebanon’s political rule or divide the nation with a Lebanon in the north a southern nation we can call Hezbollahstan.
Who would supply the military arms to a progressive Islamofascist Middle Eastern disease? Naturally it would be Russia. This is the same Russia that was the former Soviet Union that armed Egypt, Syria and Jordan in a perpetual goal of eliminating Israel.
What is the Russian motivation? After all Russia has had their own experience with Islamofascist terrorists with Chechen separatists murdering Russian children and teachers at a school.
For Russia ideology is irrelevant. It does not matter if it Czarist Russia, Soviet/Communist Russia or the current Russian republic; Russian nationalism has sought global hegemony in order not to be the victim of invasions. Russia trusts no one. Currently America is a global hyper-super power hegemon. The obvious Russian strategy is to stretch American National Interests so much that a potential collapse occurs via over extension.
Russia has cleverly used their traditional enemies via agreement or military supply to stretch America.
Communist China has not exactly been friendly with Russia over the years even when they shared the same Marxist ideology. Yet China is an emerging Super Power that also wants to compete with American hegemony. Russian and Chinese cooperation although tentative is effectively giving geopolitical power to Islamofascist rogue nations and ultimately stateless Islamofascist terrorists.
When America and Israel had an opportunity to end Iran’s nuke program with little more than the threat of Iranian terrorism and global protests, they failed by yielding to diplomatic Appeasers. Now that Russia is extending veiled protection to Iran’s nuclear program, it will a more difficult decision to carpet bomb Iran’s nuclear industrial military complex. Now it is a guess if Russia is bluffing or not. An effective diplomatic lesson learned from Iran.
I have gone from favoring an attack on Iran to a wait and see if Russia, Iran, Syria or Waziristan-Pakistani terrorists step over a line that forces an American response. America has given up a preemptive posture to awaiting another 911/Pearl Harbor victim posture.
Unless Israel and America is of a gambling nature and call Russia to see if their warning is a bluff.
The old KGB fox and current President of Russia flamed Secretary of State Rice and Secretary of Defense Gates in negotiations to find a common ground on a missile protection system the US is offering to build in Poland and the Czech Republic as a counter measure to a potential Iranian missile attack.
The quickly fading ally Russia views the Missile Defense Umbrella as a threat to Russian missiles, meaning in old Cold War terminology the erasing of the Mutually Assured Destruction deterrent between Russia and Europe/America.
I mean Putin is furious! Now this begs the question: Why would a Missile Defense Umbrella which potentially even aid in protecting Russia from long range Iranian missile infuriate Putin?
Let us speculate a little.
Could it be that Russia is clandestinely aiding Iran build a nuclear arsenal with some kind of secret mutual defense pact? I mean Russia openly has provided nuclear technology to Iran. Russia has provided military arms to Iran. Russia is back to pushing the envelope on British air space. Russia is attempting to control any resources in the Arctic North Pole region.
Do all these act sound or look like the practice of a Western allies? Is Russian democracy based on the Western model devolving back to Russian despotism?
I am just speculating now; however there is the appearance of a Russian/Iranian secret pact that a Missile Defense Umbrella might just screw up.
Then there is on last question for you readers to speculate on an answer: What is China’s agenda in regard to Russia’s antics and Iran’s increasing belligerence as the West allows Iran to become a nuclear power? Hmm ???
Putin has made crystal clear his objection to a missile defense umbrella being built in Europe to the point of threatening to posture the Russian military in an offensive mode to counter any perceived attack advances from that missile shield.
America’s stand for the defensive shield is the ongoing pursuit of Iran to make weapons grade uranium that could be used in Iranian missiles that can easily reach Eastern and Western Europe. Putin does not buy that scenario. Evidently Putin comprehends that Russian endorsement and aid to Iran with its nuclear program could make Russia a target as well as Iran.
So what does the former old KGB fox propose to Bush at the G8 Summit? Putin suggests placing the American made missile defense shield in Azerbaijan, a Mohammedan nation formerly of the USSR and somewhat north of Iran. Bush has to ask, “How this benefits Russia and what are the implications to America?”
A missile shield in Azerbaijan could obviously stave off an Iranian missile attack if detection was rapid. There is even the potential of being a shield to Israel and ironically to Russia itself in the case of an Iranian missile attack.
However an Azerbaijan location could be a set up for a first strike removal of the missile umbrella by Russia to enable an in concert attack by Iran (and potentially China). The appearance to me is a total benefit for Russia depending on which ever way the geopolitical winds blow.
The Axis of evil was at one time: Iraq, Iran and North Korea. Iraq was bumped from that list.
I guess the next Axis of Evil would be Syria, Iran and North Korea. All three are rogue nations destabilizing peace in their regions.
Now I am reading in the Scotsman.com that Burma is preparing to join the Axis of evil club. Burma is already a rogue nation with a horrible human rights record. The nation is ruled by a military junta Dictatorship.
Apparently Burma is rich in natural resources and is prepared to profit on those resources. Who is paying for the natural resources? China, Russia and India.
Russia is aiding Burma in preparation of nuclear plants. Does that sound familiar?
China is buying oil and setting up naval bases on Burmese islands. This is part of the Chinese military strategy known as the “String of Pearls.” This is a reference to China’s growing military that is ever increasing Asian hegemonic power.
India is not happy with China’s emerging military via a nuclear navy in the Bay of Bengal.
India is competing for oil and gas exports from Burma by selling military arms. India is loosing that wooing game because Burma is allowing China into the Bay of Bengal and Russia is fulfilling a nuclear aspiration. This means India has a nuclear competitor in Pakistan and China and potentially Burma and Iran. India is being surrounded. India has been in Russia’s orbit for years. I am thinking this nuclear power encircling of India may force India to become a full partner of America.
The Scotsman.com reports one other tidbit about Burma wanting into the Axis of Evil club. Burma has normalized relations with North Korea: The bad boy that relies on China and threatens South Korea, Japan and America.
Jack Cashill insinuates a mysterious conspiracy possibility involving or I should I say revolving around Plamegate.
After reading “Joseph Wilson's Original Sin and how the Administration Washed it Away,” I realized I might have been a little slow connecting the dots.
Who sent Wilson to Niger? It has been verified that wifey Valerie Plame sent Wilson. Why did Plame send Wilson? This is the CIA connection I did not get until possibly now. Wilson was highly involved with French interests in providing nuclear material to Saddam Hussein. The CIA was against an Iraqi invasion by the Bush Administration.
Why was the CIA so dead set against an invasion that America’s Cloak and Dagger Company did everything it could to embarrass President Bush and the Administration?
Here is my guess. Iran has been an official enemy of America since Carter sold out the Shah and allowed the Iran Revolution to proceed. As is typical of those in the American bureaucracy that favor Arab assets to accomplish National Interests, I believe the CIA was working with Saddam to do something to a mutual enemy – Iran. In that work relationship, I sense the CIA (some how) schemed with the French without the knowledge of the Bush Administration or perhaps prior to the Bush Administration.
Why do I contemplate an operation was in place prior to the Bush Administration Agenda to take Saddam down? It is because America shipped out 1.77 tons of enriched uranium out of Iraq. The story was brief but mysteriously withdrawn. Now why would the Bush Administration not take advantage of this moment of vindication?
I sense the CIA was trying to sweep complicity to an Iraqi nuclear program that would also implicate France and Russia. By the time the Bush Administration connected the dots about CIA designs that ran counter to a Bush agenda, the invasion was committed to happen or happened.
President Bush had to decide whether to look like a weak President not in control of his own government and expose America to the embarrassment of a Clinton Agenda still moving in the bureaucracy or hide the dual opposite American government agendas to project strength.
I believe the President chose the latter. Unfortunately the less embarrassing choice set Bush up to be a target by unscrupulous Democrats that had only one agenda: to regain power in government at any cost. I believe there are Democrats that are privy to the knowledge of the CIA agenda. I believe Sandy Berger stole Classified Documents and shredded them to protect Clinton and various Democrats who might be traced to the CIA, French and Russian agenda. When those documents were destroyed, President Bush lost a smoking gun to be used against his political enemies.
Thus President Bush was at the mercy of the 2006 election in hope of perpetuating a Bush agenda. The Democrats exploited enough propaganda that voters were swayed to Democrat lies. I sense President Bush has lost his resolve to follow through and acquiescing to political enemies at the expense of American honor.
When the Bush Administration approached India about strengthening ties, I presumed it was a good thing. When the talks turned to the topic of nuclear power exchange I thought, “Wow!” The “Wow” was because India has had a history of enmity with Mohammedan nations (Pakistan in particular) and China. At the time I believed a potential America/India alliance could hold the future in a positive light as the inevitable clash between West and political Mohammedanism crashed into explosive conflict.
I was so confident of a future ally that I overlooked the old friendship between India and the former Soviet Union. Last week Russia, China and India held a Summit discussing geopolitics in New Delhi and how the three could enhance their presumed National Interests. Officially the Summit was a cumbaya get together to talk about how the three could influence world peace (blah, blah). However the topics included North Korea and the use of multilateral diplomacy to handle global crises (such as Iran). This troika of friendship cannot be good for the good ole’ USA. If this troika embarked on economic and military cooperation it would definitely challenge American global influence and National Interests.
I still cannot get past the primary military purveyors to rogue nations and consequently to Islamofascist terrorists and an India hook-up. As I have written these words still is a huge target of Islamofascist terrorism. My guess is since the end of WWII India is second only to in the frequency radical Mohammedans murdering innocent non-Mohammedans. It was Mohammedan Imperialism in India's history that slaughtered Hindus in India and basically eradicating Buddhism in the land of its birth. Forced conversions occurred in India during the Mohammedan Imperialism. Hindus also faced extermination and torture for being polytheists; however the Hindus managed to survive extermination in India. With all this in mind what boggles me is India getting into the bed of the suppliers of its loathsome enemies.
The West seems to have set the stage about how global conflicts find a foundation. The primary element for a foundation to global conflict is to construct an alliance of reliable nations. These reliable nations may have many differing cultural formations yet the glue that commits the alliance is a co-mutual National Interest.
If one connects the dots, an emerging such alliance is Russia, China and Iran. All three of these nations have very divergent cultures that have materialized to this present date in time. At first glance the appearance is that these three nations would be enemies rather than friends. There even has been recent history that all three of these nations have had recent conflict with one another.
There is one global element that unites the trio into a commonality. It is the United States of America. Russia, China and Iran want to be at the very least a regional hegemon in their traditional spheres of influence. The US’s global hegemonic reach is a stumbling block for each of the trio’s regional National Interest.
Russia since Czarist days has sought an expansionism that produces a comfort zone from invasion. China has been East Asia’s anchor of power on a continuous basis maybe longer than any other group of people (with one sort of dynasty or another to the present day Communist regime). The trio has gravitated to each other because of mutual interests. Iran has oil and China needs oil and ironically Russiaq needs refined oil. I say “ironically” about because they have loads of there own oil but apparently have difficulty in accessing it.
Russian and China both have technology and military know how. Iran wishes to access that know how.
Thus mutual National Interests and mutual needs may (if not already) cement a new Axis to confront American National Interests.
The variable to the new Axis are a couple of other Asian big dogs: economic giant Japan and emerging economic giant (and nuclear power) India. India and Japan are extreme rivals to China. The world’s largest democracy – India – has been in the old Soviet Communist orbit in the past; India however has made significant strides to ally with America. Japan ironically has been America’s best friend in Asia since the end of WWII. Japan has never been on friendly terms with Czarist Russia or Communist USSR.
A couple of minor variables in East Asia and the Pacific that would gravitate toward America are Australia, Philippines, South Korea and the controversial Taiwan.
Notice I have excluded Europe. I suspect Western Europe would only join if they sensed an extreme threat from the Axis Trio. Although much of Eastern Europe would wish to be pro-American, they are too close to Russian hegemonic desires to be an effective aid in any thing except maybe a guerrilla war. Much of Canada is in the European frame of mind politically; however I suspect Canadian political polarization would emerge on the side of America in a pinch. However I think Canada might be extremely hesitant to commit to its old friend America without some kind of tragedy on their soil such as the Mohammedan conspiracy that was broken up a short time ago. That conspiracy was aimed at the Canadian Parliament and Prime Minister.
So here I present the global stage for what I believe the inevitable future. Russia, China and Iran will undoubtedly have their minor variables to add to their interests. There is psycho North Korea. There is the Shi’ites of Iraq. I suspect al Qaeda will join Shi’ite Iran even though al Qaeda are Wahhabi Sunni psycho Mohammedans. There is Syria. There is Hezbollah of Lebanon. I suspect al Qaeda and Hamas terrorism will influence other Mohammedan nations to join the Trio Axis. It is at this moment in which Western Europe will decide if the Axis or American hegemony will best support their regional interests. That decision will be based on oil. Will the EU fight with America to gain oil from a capitalistic market or will the EU join the Axis with guarantees of oil?
In the midst of this global conflict, I suspect a holocaust of Jews in Israel will occur. The little sliver of land known as Israel may be out of reach of American protection if the conflict goes global. This much like the Philippines was out of reach of American protection at the outset of WWII with Japan. Hopefully there will be a 21st century MacArthur that will “return” to liberate Israel before too many Jews are massacred. (Theologically speaking that MacArthur might be Jesus Christ himself.)
Again global conflict is inevitable. Ideology and regional self-interest are simply to compelling for diplomatic patience to be effective. Russia, China and Iran are already having tentacles into each other; it would be difficult to do the Siamese surgery to untangle the triplets.
