Iowa Legislature Opened With Islamic Curse

Comments

Wow! I'm a born & raised Iowan (since transplanted) and this disturbs me greatly. I guess we can't really prohibit an Islamic prayer if we want the freedom to be able to publicly say Christian prayers - BUT - "victory over those who disbelieve????" And they say that Islam is a religion of peace? We don't convert nonbelievers to our religion, we just annihlate them.......

I haven't lived in Iowa for over 12 years so I can't say I'm totally up on the political climate. But from what I can see, it's interesting that there seems to increasingly be two Iowas in the political arena: 1) those in the larger cities, primarily Des Moines, that are becoming more & more liberal and politically correct; and 2) those in the rural areas who still believe in personal accountability and normalcy. (Storm Lake is in a rural area; it's a town of about 10k.) The liberals seem to be winning, based on events like this and the electing of guys like Tom Vilsac to office.

As a side note, I just have to point out: Steve Smith of the Evangelical Free Church in Albert City, Iowa, is my parents' pastor!! I grew up in that church!

This is a phenomena that is happening at many State Legislatures around the nation and Legislatoros this sit there ignorant of what is said and smug in their belief in furthering multiculturalism.
Thank you Snooper.
To rid ourselves of the poison of PC, multiculturalism and Identity Politics, we MUST place conservatives in the House and take it back. Then, we do the same in the Senate.

The battleground for this nation in the next 2 or 3 elections is in CONgress. Until then, we will get "left leaning" GOP presidential aspirants or we will get flat-out socialists as aspirants.
I have to agree with you.
